The mother of Nottingham attack victim Barnaby Webber has said she "burst into tears" when she found out the sentence given to her son's killer was to be reviewed.

Emma Webber spoke to Sky's Sarah-Jane Mee after the attorney general referred Valdo Calocane's sentence to the Court of Appeal amid concerns it was unduly lenient.

Calocane was detained at a high-security hospital for the manslaughter of Barnaby Webber, his fellow student Grace O'Malley-Kumar, and school caretaker Ian Coates.

Prosecutors did not pursue a murder trial as it was deemed that Calocane was not fully responsible for his actions due to his history of paranoid schizophrenia.
