Breaking news surrounding the surge on the southern border, the Biden administration is clearing the way for thousands of Venezuelan migrants to get work permits by expanding Temporary Protected Status to refugee seekers.

The decision was announced after New York officials pleaded with President Biden for help addressing the migrant crisis in NYC.

Residents in New York however, continue to protest plans to house some migrants and asylum seekers inside the city.

FOX 5 New York reporter Teresa Priolo spoke to protesters in Staten Island, upset with the city's handling of the migrant crisis.
