The death toll from the devastating wildfires in Maui have reached 101, Hawaii Governor Josh Green says.
Hundreds of people are still unaccounted for and the death toll could rise more as emergency teams continue search efforts. The family assistance center is asking families for DNA samples to assist in identification processes.
As recovery efforts continue, power is being restored to parts of the island and all of the emergency shelters now have access to internet.
President Biden says he and the first lady will visit Hawaii “as soon as we can.”
