Louisville mass shooting: Witnesses describe being inside bank building when shots rang out

Authorities in Louisville, Kentucky identified the suspect deceased gunman accused of killing five people inside a building that houses an Old National Bank location as Connor Sturgeon, a former employee.

Two men who were inside the bank building at the time of the shooting, described what they witnessed.

“We were in the red conference room, whoever was next to me got shot—there’s blood on me from it,” one witness said.

“I just heard this loud noise. I thought there was like something dropping because they’re doing some construction or renovations in there,” another witness aid. “I got up there and a guy was like ‘run there’s a shooter.”

The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. and officers that responded within minutes encountered the suspect, who was still firing shots, according to Louisville Metro Police.
