Sir Ed Davey, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, has insisted that Dominic Raab should resign as an MP and "face a by-election".

If he is not willing to do this, Sir Ed says, the government should "withdraw the whip from him" otherwise they are "sending a message that bullying is OK in the Conservative Party".
