The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, has thanked UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for his visit and support, and said "both nations deserve peace".

Mr Herzog also raised his concerns around the BBC's characterisation of Hamas, calling it "distortion of facts". He was referring to the BBC's refusal to call Hamas a terrorist organisation.

A BBC spokesperson has previously noted it's a long-standing position for its reporters not to use the term themselves unless attributing it to someone else.
