Armed forces minister James Heappey has said that the UK will "continue to remind the Israelis of their responsibilities and international humanitarian law" but added we should not call for "an outright ceasefire".

When asked if the home secretary contributed to tensions in the protests, Mr Heappey said "I wouldn't have used the language that she used" but "Tommy Robinson and his EDL thugs were organising their protests well before the home secretary published her article".
