Israel-Hamas war: Protesters shout ceasefire at Jewish Philadelphia restaurant

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro calls a protest at a Philadelphia restaurant owned by a Jewish-Israeli chef "a blatant act of antisemitism."

"Tonight in Philly, we saw a blatant act of antisemitism — not a peaceful protest," Gov. Shapiro said. "A restaurant was targeted and mobbed because its owner is Jewish and Israeli. This hate and bigotry is reminiscent of a dark time in history."

Protesters with "The Philadelphia Free Palestine Coalition" marched through the streets of Philadelphia on Sunday. They gathered on Samson Street outside Goldie, a restaurant owned by Israeli chef Michael Solomonov.

While at the restaurant, the demonstrators screamed, "Goldie Goldie you can't hide, we charge you with genocide!"

The video of the incident has circulated all over social media platforms, including X and TikTok.

This comes as the Israel-Hamas war nears the two-month mark following the attack by Hamas on Israel on Oct. 7.
