Israel launched heavy strikes across central and souther Gaza after expanding its offensive. Warplanes flew overhead and explosions echoe over houses in Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces said 'Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon follows the same extremists and ideology as Hamas.' Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said 'Hamas must be destroyed, Gaza must be demilitarized, and Palestinian society must be deradicalized.'
