US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said a "pause" in the conflict between Hamas and Israel "came to an end because of Hamas".

Addressing reporters in Dubai, Mr Blinken claimed the group "reneged on the commitments it made in terms of releasing certain hostages" and "began firing rockets before the pause had ended".

A senior Hamas spokesperson previously blamed the end of the seven-day ceasefire on Israel and the US.
