The death of an infant who was found on the northbound 405 Freeway in Los Angeles area is tied to a homicide and fatal car crash, sources told FOX 11. LiveNOW's Lexie Petrovic spoke with FOX 11 reporters Hailey Winslow and Christina Gonzalez for more information on what happened.

During a news conference, highway patrol officials said they discovered two girls at the scene: an infant, believed to be 5 or 6 months old, in the roadway and a 9-year-old girl on the right shoulder. The infant died on the freeway and the other girl was hospitalized with minor injuries.

It's believed this incident is related to a murder in Woodland Hills and a fatal car crash in Redondo Beach. Reports indicate that a woman in her mid-30s fatally stabbed her partner at an apartment complex in Woodland Hills around 3:30 a.m. She then fled with the children in a black Porsche. Detectives are trying to determine just how the children got on the freeway — and whether they fell out of the car or were pushed out. The woman kept driving after the girls were ejected from the car. She died when the vehicle crashed into a tree.

The 9-year-old girl is now the sole survivor in her family after these three tragic events.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to call the California Highway Patrol Southern Division Major Crimes office.
