Israel's military has dropped flyers urging Palestinians in parts of Rafah to move to a nearby "humanitarian area".

It appears to be the start of a planned evacuation of civilians ahead of a much-touted Israeli ground offensive on Gaza's southernmost city.

In a statement, the IDF said it had expanded its designated humanitarian area in al Mawasi to include field hospitals, tents and additional aid.
