Sky News’ data and forensics unit looks at one of the communities targeted by Hamas in a widespread attack on 7 October that left 1,200 Israelis dead and hundreds held hostage. Some 11,000 Palestinian lives have been lost in the ensuing war.

A survivor and relatives of those killed in Kibbutz Be’eri speak out – with one recalling hearing their loved one’s last words just before she died at the hands of Hamas, and another explaining how he knew his aunt had died when he saw a video circulating on social media.

Sky News has identified more than 80 ordinary people who died there, with the youngest victim being a nine-month-old baby.
