Government to end use of 50 migrant hotels, says immigration minister

Immigration minister Robert Jenrick provided a statement on the use of hotels to accommodate asylum seekers, saying the hotels should be "assets" to local communities, not "housing migrants" at significant cost to the taxpayer.

The minister said the first 50 hotels to be exited "will begin in the coming days and be complete by the end of January".
