A federal government shutdown has been averted after a last-minute deal was reached and approved by the House and Senate, then signed by President Biden.

Lawmakers have said there will be an investigation into Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) after he pulled the fire alarm at Capitol Hill during House vote on Government shutdown bill.

Former president Jimmy Carter is celebrating his 99th birthday on Sunday in Plains, Georgia. A big celebration is also expected in Atlanta.

New York and New Jersey were left with extreme flooding just days ago. Clean-up is underway in those hard-hit areas.
