New York authorities arrested Long Island's Gilgo Beach serial murder suspect Rex Heuermann with the help of DNA from a discarded pizza box, according to a bail application.
Heuermann is a married father of two and an architect living on Long Island and working in Manhattan. Hours after his arrest, law enforcement arrived to start searching a home in Massapequa Park, New York -- 25 minutes from where 11 sets of human remains were found along a suburban beach highway in 2010 and 2011
The Gilgo Beach murders have remained unsolved for years. Law enforcement officials provided the latest details from the more-than-a-decade long investigation.
