Another strange turn of events suggests that The Simpsons, America's favorite animated TV show, may have predicted the future. The show has a history of seeming prophecies, including Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign and the death of Queen Elizabeth II. This time, viewers think the show predicted the disappearance of the Ocean Gate submersible while it was investigating the Titanic's remains.

The episode "Homer's Paternity Coot" from season 17's episode 10 shows a disturbing scene. It first aired in 2006. Mason Fairbanks, Homer Simpson's long-lost father, gives a speech full of joy before he and his son go on an underwater expedition. He wishes that everyone could feel the joy he is feeling at the moment. While investigating, they find the wreck of a huge ship loaded with loot. But Simpson gets the submersible stuck in the Barrier Reef by accident and starts to freak out. As he struggles to break free, the submarine's low oxygen light begins flashing, and he goes into a coma. Three days later, the protagonist wakes up to find himself in the loving embrace of his family.

This video reappeared, much to the surprise of many, and quickly went viral on Twitter. Those who saw it said they couldn't believe it, with one user saying, "The Simpsons always predict something!" One commenter wrote, "How the [expletive] did they predict the Titanic submarine incident?" Some have even joked that the writers of The Simpsons ought to be analyzed for their prescient scripts.

Many people have taken notice of the episode due to the disturbing parallels between it and the actual disappearance of the Ocean Gate submersible. On Sunday, about an hour and 45 minutes into its journey, the small submersible owned by Ocean Gate Expeditions and equipped with only four days' worth of oxygen disappeared. Since then, rescuers have worked nonstop to find the plane and bring back its five stranded passengers. Thursday brought the tragic news that the submersible had finally depleted its emergency oxygen supply, heightening worries for the passengers.

Ocean Gate has encountered difficulties like this before. One of their submarines lost contact with the guiding ship in 2022, leaving its crew in the dark for several hours. Safety concerns about the company's submersibles have also been raised. David Lockridge, the company's former director of marine operations, expressed concern about quality control and safety in 2018.

The apparent prediction made by The Simpsons may be nothing more than a bizarre coincidence, but it has still amazed and perplexed viewers. The passengers' well-being is still top priority as search and rescue operations for the missing submersible continue. Listen in as the story develops further.
