Elon Musk's brain chip firm Neuralink has said it has been given the go-ahead to start carrying out studies on humans.

The company's brain chip aims to help patients with severe paralysis control external technologies using only neural signals. Two years ago, the firm conducted a study involving monkeys that drew criticism for alleged animal welfare violations.
