A prosecutor who was investigating organized crime in Ecuador has been assassinated in broad daylight. César Suárez was also leading the investigation into the attack on a live TV broadcast by gang members in Guayaquil on January 9. According to Ecuador’s Attorney General, he was killed in his car whilst on the way to a court hearing. Ecuador police say they have arrested two men for the alleged participation in the assassination.
