Facebook and Instagram owner Meta has launched its new microblogging app called Threads

The company’s boss, Mark Zuckerberg, reported that 10 million users signed up for the app in the first seven hours after launch.

But can the tech company, which also owns WhatsApp, capitalise on the recent drama and alienation at Twitter, caused by owner Elon Musk?
