England's former deputy chief medical officer has revealed his family were "threatened with having their throats cut" over his response to the COVID pandemic.

Sir Jonathan became well known for his near-daily appearances at the government's COVID press conferences in Downing Street - as our health correspondent Ashish Joshi reports.
