Former head of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove tells Sky News the UK has been "neglectful" in its dealing with China, treating it as a "benign trading partner" rather than a "communist state with significant global ambitions."

The UK needs to "wake up" and "adopt a realistic view of living with China as a trading partner", he said.
