Boris Johnson has hit back at fresh claims that he broke lockdown rules describing them as "total nonsense".

Sky News caught up with Mr Johnson, who was referred to police by the Cabinet Office earlier this week, after his ministerial diary revealed visits by friends to Chequers and Downing Street during the pandemic.

Some are warning that yet another onslaught of damaging allegations signals the beginning of the end for the former Prime Minister's political career.
