The beached sperm whale stuck on a sandbar off the coast of Venice Beach in Florida died Monday, according to wildlife officials. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission said the 50-to-70-foot whale had beached itself on a sandbar about 50 yards out from Service Club Park.
