Akron, Ohio, Mayor Dan Horrigan and police chief Steve Mylett are held a press conference Monday after a grand jury declined to indict officers in the shooting death of Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Black man who was killed by police in June 2022 after fleeing a traffic stop. Police said Walker refused to stop when they tried to pull him over for minor equipment and traffic violations, and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said that Walker fired at police, and that he "shot first."
