Mark Regev, senior adviser to Benjamin Netanyahu, has responded over footage appearing to show the Israeli military detaining dozens of Palestinian men in northern Gaza.

The footage showed an apparent line of Palestinian men without most of their clothes. Sky News hasn't been able to verify when the images were taken.

When asked about the footage, Mr Regev told Sky News: "We were looking for people with concealed weapons especially suicide bombers with explosive vests. It's unfortunately a necessity in the situation we are in.

"We were rounding up people who were suspects, we have lists, we have intelligence information of people who were involved in the atrocities on October 7."
