A Labour shadow minister says accusations Sir Keir Starmer put pressure on the Commons Speaker ahead of the Gaza Commons debate are "complete garbage".

In an interview with Sky's Sophy Ridge, Nick Thomas-Symonds blamed the government for the Commons descending into chaos on Wednesday night for "fleeing the field".

He said Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle "should stay in his job" as he made a decision in "good faith."
