Ukraine War: Evacuees in Kherson shelled by Russian forces

Civilian volunteers evacuating residents from flooded areas of coastal Kherson have come under shell fire Ukraine’s interior ministry and the city mayor said.

The attack was blamed on Russian forces across the other side of the Dnipro river.

At least three people were killed when evacuation sites around Korabelna Square were shelled just before 3pm local time.

State broadcaster Suspilne said a woman working for the State Emergency Service had died, and that 1,900 people had been evacuated from the right bank of the Dnipro since the dam collapse.
