Reports have shown that around 4,000 British passport holders remain in Sudan, after forces extracted all British diplomats and their families from the city during a weekend raid.

However, rescue won't be imminent as the government works out the best way for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to help thousands of British nationals under fire in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
