Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas held a news conference to discuss how the Biden administration is preparing for an expected influx of migrant crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border after Title 42 expires on Thursday. Mayorkas acknowledged that the coming days would be "difficult," but he said the end of the pandemic-era public health order "does not mean our border is open. In fact, it is the contrary."
