Government to take legal action over handing WhatsApp's to COVID inquiry

The Cabinet Office says it is seeking a judicial review over handing Boris Johnson's WhatsApp messages to the COVID inquiry.

In a letter, it said the decision has been made "with regret".

The government says it will "continue to cooperate fully with the inquiry" once the issue has been "determined by the courts".
