Atlanta police confirm Deion Patterson, the 24-year-old gunman who opened fire in at a Midtown Atlanta's Northside Hospital, was taken into custody Wednesday night. They plan to hold a press conference at 8:15 p.m.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Deion Patterson, who was discharged from active duty by the Coast Guard in January 2023. They were able to identify him by using surveillance video.
